Heart Shaped Locket Brooch contains a sewing kit. Front is etched with an anatomical human heart with 3 sutures across the left anterior descending artery and the outer perimeter of the front of the locket is stitched with vintage silk thread. I made this locket in memory of my father, who had a heart attack at 50 and a triple bypass at that time. The main artery blocked was his LAD or as is often called by lay people, "the widowmaker," which is sutured in this piece. My father passed away during a kidney transplant 2 years before the creation of this piece from heart failure during the procedure. This is my attempt to put my own heart back together during the process of mourning my father.
